Since 2005 there was published the magazine “ZAART”, which became an original print “archive” Ural art 2000 agricultural. Thanks to the work of the branch was finalised and released a collection of video art of the Ural – Siberian region.
In 2007 the branch of the NCCA has initiated the first Night of museums in Ekaterinburg in the framework of the pan – European shares held on the initiative of ICOM (International Council of museums), which is now held every year under the auspices of the Department of Culture of Administration of the city of Yekaterinburg.
In 2008 the branch implements the program “Urals plants: the industry of senses”, dedicated to the artistic reinterpretation of topics industrial reality in the urban environment. It is within the framework of this program the first production site of the city became the venue for a major art projects: two consecutive years in the city hosted the international festival – laboratory АRТ WORKS”. From this same program has grown the most ambitious project of the branch today – Ural industrial Biennale of contemporary art, founded in 2010. More than 100 production, exhibition, theatre, educational and business areas of Yekaterinburg and the Ural region became participants of the Biennale.
From 2011, the Ekaterinburg branch of NCCA got its own building and is becoming the Urals branch and is expanding its activities in the Ural Federal district (Sverdlovsk, Kurgan, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk regions, Khanty – Mansi and Yamalo – Nenets Autonomous district), and also runs a program to support young artists of projects “First on Mars” and “Workshop”. Today more than ten projects Ofgucci were nominees of the award in the field of contemporary art “Innovation”. At the site of the center are implemented exhibition projects, educational programs in the sphere of modern art (lecture – discussion club “Agape Mondays”, the program “Art. Science. Technologies”); residence and artists ‘ studios.
The building of the Ural branch of NCCA (Ekaterinburg, ulitsa Dobrolyubova, 19A) – more than a hundred years: it was built in 1911 – 15 years by architect I. K. Yankovsky, at that time, there was located a district school. In 20 – ies of XX century it was made by the people’s Commissar of education – Anatoly V. Lunacharsky. Today, the building passed to the use of UV NCCA, so he designed architectural project on reconstruction and adaptation. Design decisions were the answer to strict complex requirements of the modern centers of contemporary art no significant, irreversible changes of a historical monument, as well as the maximum possible preservation and restoration.
