In the framework of the educational programme of the 3 – rd Ural industrial biennial of contemporary art of the Ural branch of the NCCA in partnership with the Ekaterinburg Academy of contemporary art, Ural Federal University named after first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin and the branch of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation begins a programme of additional education "Mediation in the field of art". The main goal is to train a professional group of art mediators to work in 3 – rd Ural industrial biennial in autumn of 2015 and for further work in cultural institutions art.
The beginning of classes will be in March 20, 2015.
Art- mediation is a new trend in museum and gallery activities on the organization of dialogue and exchange of views among the audience at the exhibition. In Russia it has come from Europe, where it actively and successfully used in the past decade. Art mediator encourages everyone to make their own judgment about a work of art, using its experience and knowledge. Thus, a space for new perspectives, dialogue, discussion and co-creation. Art mediation provides a productive dialogue between the viewer with contemporary art.
The programme of additional education "Mediation in the sphere of art" is a unique project that combines lectures, workshops, trainings, including invited experts from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm. The programme includes a series of lectures:
– "Introduction to contemporary art"
– "The history of the biennial movement"
– "Methods of work with the audience"
– "Sverdlovsk constructivism and Soviet avant-garde"
– "Ways of working with industrial heritage"
Trainings will be conducted in preparation for communication with different groups of viewers, to overcome psychological barriers, etc. Training also involves active independent work to provide printed and video materials and communication with artists, curators, critics within the open discussion.
Conditions of participation:
To participate in the programme are invited the students and graduates creative specialties Ekaterinburg, employees of museums, galleries and other cultural institutions, and all those wishing to extend their communicative competence and to acquire the skills of the art guide. Upon completion of training, all participants will receive a certificate of further education (or their certificate of professional development), and the most successful participants will be invited to a work of art mediators on the 3rd Ural industrial Biennale of contemporary art.
The number of places is limited.

The classes will begin on March 20, 2015 in the Ekaterinburg Academy of contemporary art address: Ekaterinburg, Culture Boulevard 3 / Krasnykh Partizan Street 9.
The classes will be held on Fridays from 18:00 to 21:00 and on Saturdays during the daytime. The time and place of holding open discussions will be additionally specified.
The detailed content of the programme and schedule will be sent to selected participants in a March 15.
Cost of training:
– The participation in the first session, from March 20 to May 20, 2015 – 3 000 rubles (students – 2 000 rubles). The cost includes: lecture and discussion block 2 training 1 practical session, as well as free access to all lectures in the Ural branch of the NCCA in the period.
– At the end of the first session will be selected 10 participants for the free passage of the second session. Those who wish to continue their education and are not included in the selected list can do so for an additional fee.
