In Ekaterinburg Museum of fine arts will be opened a truly unique exhibition, representing a kind of "Museum in the Museum", because it is composed from a single private assembly – collection of naive art E. V. Royzman. Naive art is a unsolved phenomenon of modernity. Historically it goes back to people's iconography and peasant house painting associated with the desire of self – taught artists is a feasible to augment the magnificence of canonical paintings, to transfer images and the history of narrative painting in peasant life. The Assembly of people's icons in the collection of E. V. Royzman are the icons of the Russian North of the XVII – XVIII centuries; collection of Krasnosel and shingle icons collected in the Urals; the icons of the Dnieper. Folk art was presented in the peasant household is diverse – in embroidery, woven and painted the mats and, of course, paintings of interiors and household items.
The works of naive art of Amateur artists are so attractive that "naive style" are eminent professionals. The exhibition is presented the works of over thirty artists – lovers. Most of the collection E. V. Royzman are the Ural masters, authors of Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region. Some of them are world famous, for example, the work of Nina Varfolomeyeva and Albert Korovkina published in the "world encyclopedia of naïve art". Other works, such as paintings Mari ethnofuturism Achica Barzava are successful in Yekaterinburg exhibition history. The exposition will also meet with the newly discovered names. Despite the fact that the works of naive artists are an important means of author's expression of a sense of History, the majority of works from the collection will be the first presented to specialists and to a wide audience. The works are grouped by author – topic. Because every naive artist, with rare exceptions, develops in the works of the main theme of his life: Ustyugov – modern and ancient history of the Urals, Varfolomeeva scenes of rural life in pre-war time, Bartsev – the fate of the Mari people, Kamensky – happiness and holidays of the Soviet people, Titov and Baranova – quiet joys of rural life. In addition, the collection features works by artists for whom the plot is just an excuse to enjoy the color, shape or texture of the visible embodiment of its inner world. In the drawings Trofimova, Korovkina and Yazykova we see the rapture of the art equipment, the enjoyment of the game "in the paint". However, the exhibition is not only about painting, it talks about the meetings of the collector with their authors, about human discovery and destiny.
This exhibition is an unprecedented cultural event in the life of Ekaterinburg – not only due to the fact that naïve art on such a scale we are exhibited for the first time, but also because this project is a compelling example of the revival of Russian traditions donation of the private collection of its local boards, their hometown.
